Privacy policy
memraize is a daily puzzle site. This policy explains what data the site handles, why, and the choices you have. We run the site with as little data as possible: you do not need an account, and playing needs no personal data at all. Questions go to hello@memraize.com.
What we collect
The site keeps your puzzle progress, language preference and consent choice in your own browser (local storage). None of that is sent to us. If you allow analytics, the site sends us aggregate play events: which game, which locale, the puzzle date and an event name such as "play" or "complete". These events carry no account, no name, no device id and no advertising id, and we do not store your IP address with them.
Error reports
When something breaks, the site sends a technical error report to Sentry, our error-tracking service. A report holds the error message, the page it happened on and the browser type. We use these reports only to find and fix defects, and they are deleted after Sentry's standard retention period.
Feedback you send
When you use the feedback form, your category, message and optional screenshot are filed as an issue in our private issue tracker on GitHub, together with the game, locale, puzzle date and puzzle id. The form has no email field and does not identify you. Please do not put personal data in the message or the screenshot.
Advertising
Ads on this site are served by Google AdSense. Google may use cookies and similar identifiers to select and measure ads. In the UK and the EU, Google shows its own certified consent message (IAB TCF) before any ad cookies are used; if you decline there, ads still show, but non-personalised ones that do not use your data. How long we keep data
Aggregate play counts are kept indefinitely; they contain nothing about you as a person. Error reports expire after the retention window of the error-tracking service. Feedback issues are kept for as long as they are useful for maintaining the site.
Your rights
Under UK and EU data-protection law you can ask what we hold about you, ask us to correct or delete it, and complain to your supervisory authority. Because the site stores almost nothing tied to you, the usual answer is that we hold no personal data about you at all — but ask any time at hello@memraize.com.
Children
memraize is a general-audience site and its puzzles are suitable for all ages. We do not offer accounts and we do not knowingly collect personal data from anyone, including children. Where the law requires it, advertising shown to younger visitors is non-personalised.
Changes to this policy
When we change how the site handles data, we update this page first. Significant changes are announced on the site before they take effect.
